Necessary Reforms

by

Make no mistake, we are on the brink of financial ruin. This year, for the first time ever, Social Security is losing money. Very soon now, there will not be enough money in the world to satisfy the entitlements and debt payments of the US debt.

These are the necessary reforms.

  1. End deficit spending. This means a constitutional amendment with strict enforcement to ensure we borrow not a penny at any time ever again.
  2. Completely reform our tax code. It must be dramatically simplified and dramatically lowered.
  3. End entitlement programs. The government cannot be the pension program for anyone, including federal employees and the military. The money simply cannot be trusted to politicians of any kind. We must stop spending money that isn’t absolutely necessary.

We can, and probably should, enact these reforms immediately. If we end the entitlement programs, we will dramatically reduce the pressure on the budget. With a balanced budget, we can pay off the debt in a number of years. By reworking and lowering the tax code, we can actually make people more productive and bring in more tax revenue.
