Dear Congresspeople,

by

If you take an oath to uphold and defend the constitution, and then you are caught poo-pooing the very document, what does that make you?

The Blaze has the conversation.

You want to hear something radical?

Alright, picture an angry adult male, father of five, standing up and wagging his finger as spittle comes out of his mouth. His eyes are red with rage, his body and voice quivering with emotion. You fear for your safety near this man because he is visibly upset and disturbed, and possible capable of doing something radical.

This man stands up to shout, aggressively, the following words:

“If you do not SUPPORT and DEFEND our CONSTITUTION, YOU ARE A TRAITOR TO OUR COUNTRY AND WORTHY OF THE DEATH PENALTY! MY GOD! WHY OH WHY DO YOU CALL YOURSELF AMERICAN AND SAY THINGS LIKE THIS! There is NOTHING, NOTHING that I can tolerate with what you’ve just said, because what you’ve just said SHREDS the VERY DOCUMENT that GUARANTEES OUR NATURAL, UNALIENABLE RIGHTS! You, my dear woman, HAVE NO IDEA what you are doing, because BY DESTROYING THAT DOCUMENT, YOU GIVE PEOPLE LIKE ME THE RIGHT TO KILL YOU because YOU ARE DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY!!!”

Did you catch that? Is it not clear?

OK, let me translate it to words you do understand, because I’ll say it in words you expect me to say:

something something something DEATH something something something KILL YOU something something.

Is it more obvious?

Leftists, understand one thing, and one thing only. What keeps me and people like me from going out and shooting you is that document you call radical and quaint. If you destroy that document, there is NOTHING that restrains me from organizing my friends and buddies and going on a hunting expedition a la 1776. Except this time the redcoats will call themselves democrats. Remember, the Tea Party started out nonviolent, but when pressed, those who found themselves living in Boston realized that the crown would only understand when his soldiers lie moldering on a heap.

That’s why we have the constitution—to keep us from killing each other when we disagree. This is not a hard concept to understand. Do I need to repeat it? Would it do any good?

If you can’t understand this basic fact, and persist in poo-pooing the constitution and calling it “radical” and referring to us as “tenthers” because we have the gall to actually believe that the Tenth Amendment actually means something, you will wake up one morning wondering where all the peace in our country went.

And you will only have yourselves to blame.

Traitors.

And I mean that with the utmost sincerity.

Where can we find a grand jury to put these charges at their feet?
