What to do with pre-existing conditions?

April 25, 2017

I see conservatives talk on the TV and radio about the horrible calamity that is “pre-existing conditions”.

The idea is that someone gets sick, and now that their medical expenses are sky-high, they want someone else to pay for it. So they think they can convince an insurance company to start writing them checks so that they can get the medicine they need.

This whole idea is selfish and self-centered, and frankly, I have a great disrespect for anyone who thinks they are “owed” something, particularly because of the genetic code or the disease they happened to pick up.

On the one hand, many diseases are entirely preventable. If you don’t want AIDS, then don’t share needles and don’t have sexual relations outside of marriage. Yes, some people get AIDS even though they adhere to those strict rules, but the number of people who caught AIDS in this way is vanishingly small. My heart goes out to people who contract AIDS in the course of their work since they work with people exposed to AIDS. But the fact of the matter is no one forced them to take that job, and so they need to own up to the consequences of their career and life choices.

Let me explain. One time, a car crashed through our backyard fence. I went to investigate, and there was a drunk driver, his face bloody from smashing in the windshield. He wanted to run away, but the police and ambulance were already on their way. I didn’t have gloves on, but I used my hands to keep him sitting in the driver’s seat, and I may have gotten some blood on my hands. Had the man had AIDS, and had I been exposed to it and contracted it, I wouldn’t have blamed society or anything but myself. When you take upon yourself the task of helping someone else, you must also take upon yourself the responsibility for the consequences of that choice. I was willing to risk exposure to whatever diseases he had because I wanted to see to it that he could get proper medical attention (and also that he couldn’t avoid the legal consequences for drunk driving.)

If you’re not willing to take that risk, then you shouldn’t be a doctor, an EMT, or whatever else. Go do something less risky, like growing flowers or painting pictures. Leave the risky work to real grown-ups who take responsibility for their actions. Also, I should note that if you join the military, there is a good chance you might get shot by the enemy, and that is something you have to live with otherwise you shouldn’t join the military.

The key point here is many diseases are a result of our decisions, and we need to take responsibility for those decisions. We need to look out for ourselves and our loved ones, because no one else will.

There are some people who contract various diseases through literally no fault of their own. My heart goes out to them. What a terrible tragedy that is! But remember, we are all human, and all of us will eventually die, one way or the other. Maybe we get drunk and drive and crash into a tree. Maybe we are hit by a drunk driver while talking a walk with our children through the neighborhood. Either way, there is a risk to just being alive, a risk that we need to own for ourselves. Again, no one will ever care for yourself as much as you do.

Having absolved everyone else from the tragedy that befalls you, self-caused or not, let me explain what should be done about it. But first, let me explain what should not be done about it.

We should not impose tyrannical rules and regulations on the economy. The only kinds of rules and regulations on the economy that should exist are those that make the economy function more smoothly and effectively. See, the economy is the golden goose, and wealth is the golden eggs it lays every morning. Can you make the golden goose lay more eggs by making a law requiring it to do so? What if you punished the golden goose for not laying more eggs? Will it lay eggs? Every time you put some kind of restriction on the golden goose, you risk killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. And as the farmer who slaughtered his only golden goose found out, a dead goose won’t lay any eggs at all. The only types of rules we should write are rule that protect the golden goose or make the golden goose’s life easier, provided the golden goose continues to lay the golden eggs.

In more concrete terms, let’s look at two kinds of regulations.

One regulations says, “1 kg is exactly this much weight.” This might limit someone else’s freedom to say what they wish, particularly if they want to sell you 900 g of silver while calling it a full 1 kg. But having a standard weight means that when you go to buy something, you know that when it says “1 kg” you get exactly 1 kg. This is important, because it makes the economy that much easier to run. If I run a flour mill, and I need 500 kg of wheat, I need to know that when a truck shows up with 500 kg of wheat, there is exactly 500 kg of wheat on that truck, not 499 kg and not 500 kg. And I also need to know exactly what type of wheat I am getting. These kinds of regulations are very good and necessary and make the economy run more smoothly and efficiently, making our golden gooses capable of laying the maximum number of golden eggs.

Another regulation says, “You have to hire this many women”. Or, put in another way, “You can’t hire more than this many men, no matter how qualified they are.” This kind of regulation seems like a good idea. Who would want to say women don’t deserve jobs they are qualified for? But the other side of these regulations is dark and sinister: It is excluding other qualified people from participating. These kinds of regulations can only hurt the economy. Let me explain why:

  • Suppose the regulation limits behavior that no one wants to do anyway. In this case, the regulation has no effect. Example: “You must hire a woman” when the best qualified candidate was a woman.
  • Suppose the regulation limits behavior that people wanted to do. They wanted to do it because that behavior is more profitable, and the regulation makes them do something else instead, something that is less profitable. So that sort of regulation hurts the economy. Example: “You must hire a woman” when there was a man who was better qualified than all the other women.

So, now that we see that regulations which can only hurt the economy are unwise, let’s answer the question: What do we do with all the people with pre-existing conditions?

You’re not going to like the answer. Trust me.

Well, if you like the answer, you would already be doing it. So it won’t surprise you. But if the answer surprises you, then you aren’t going to like it.

The answer is: Help them yourself! That’s right, break out your checkbook, and write them a check. Or do something that helps them. Maybe you build a hospital and hire doctors to give free treatment to people suffering from that disease. Or you build a research center and hire scientists to find better and cheaper cures and treatments for the disease.

Now, I have my own money, which I spend on things I think are most important, things like food and clothing for my kids and a roof over our head and books and things like that. I also spend a significant chunk to help other people, since I have been blessed with more “golden eggs” than I need for my own family. I fully intend to get very rich, and spend my retirement further helping in whatever way I can to alleviate the suffering of my fellow-man.

The idea that government should somehow solve the problem is wrong on so many levels. Suffice it to say, why do you think the one institution with which we entrust our natural rights to kill and destroy to handle the delicate issue of helping people with pre-existing conditions? What sort of madman would want that sort of arrangement? Indeed I can think of only one type of madman: Some despotic psychopath who wants to center all power in a government they can control. When you think about it, truly only a psychopath would say that rather than having people help each other, we should have the government do it for them.

A Dual American Society

April 20, 2017

I’ve often thought of what America would be like if we split the nation into two groups. One group would participate fully in the welfare state and be subject to the taxes needed to fund it. The other group wouldn’t participate in the welfare state but wouldn’t have to pay the taxes to support it either. Both groups would pay taxes to fund the military which protects both groups equally.

The more I think about this arrangement, the more and more excited I get about it. The socialist society would quickly fail as every rich person would opt out of socialism.

I’ve been having another thought. What if we did away with universal suffrage altogether? What if only an elect few had the right to vote? When our nation started, all the way up until John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson, mostly only property owners had a vote. You weren’t truly considered a full citizen until you owned property. This system gave us the awesome presidents of Washington, Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe, presidents who not only lead the nation, but carefully thought about their role and mission. From Jefferson to Monroe, the presidents decided that they shouldn’t inject themselves into the matters of congress, but serve as the final constitutional arbiter of what is and is not constitutional. Until Jackson, no president had ever vetoed a bill unless they thought it was unconstitutional. These presidents also spent their chief focus on matters of national security and foreign policy, carefully negotiating their way and positioning themselves until President Monroe could issue the famous Monroe Doctrine: “Europe stays out of the American continent altogether!”

How would we get to there from here? I think for starters, we point out how universal suffrage has failed us. When people vote selfishly, they get the expected results of corrupt politicians, but more importantly, corrupt politicians who are never held accountable. Perhaps we can start a political movement that questions that sanity of universal suffrage, wondering if we should carefully hand out citizenship or at least suffrage. Maybe it would require a great disaster, where a large enough minority feels compelled to suspend democracy. I don’t know.

Perhaps we form a dual state, one state bound to property and the other state bound to personhood. I have often wondered what a state might look like in the internet age, when location is not nearly as important as it used to be. Perhaps that’s the solution: A new state, built on the internet, where suffrage is carefully controlled and limited to people who have proven themselves responsible and trustworthy.

The Civil War of 2017

April 18, 2017

Last post, I talked about the Battle of Berkeley. This is one of the opening battles in hostilities in the Civil War of 2017. Just because one side is so weak they can’t even fight doesn’t make it any less of a war.

This post, I’m going to talk about what the war is really about, and how it will be fought, and how America can win.

First, let’s look at the sides in this battle.

On the left side, you have Antifa and the anti-Trump people, generally the leftists and communists and socialists and all the people that shout things like “Racist! Sexist! Nazi!” and so on.

On the right side, you have everyone else.

This is a pretty lopsided fight, I know, but it’s important to understand how the lines are drawn. The right side is most definitely not made up of just conservatives or just Trump supporters or just the Alt-Right. It’s made up of everyone who is sick of the communist crap that goes on every day in America.

The way this battle is fought is principally online. That is, people share pictures and they gradually come out as supporting one side or the other. You may have heard of something called “red-pilling”. This is when people begin to see the left for what it truly is, and realize they have to stand up and fight against it. However, there is a lot more going on that you can’t really see.

In the FBI and the CIA, there is a literal Civil War going on, even though it is all hidden from our view. There are people getting killed, but more importantly, people getting information out. Wikileaks is the key player here. When they release something, it’s important because it represents another salvo in that key battle. Thankfully, Trump won the presidency and from all signs, he is competent enough to win that war, even though it may take several years. The battle being fought over there is between the “establishment”, AKA, the communists who have infiltrated our government, and the American loyalists, who have had enough and are willing to fight to protect America.

There is another war being waged through the media. Did you know that Netflix is having financial problems? The real reason why is because a very large number of people on the right side have left Netflix thanks to their obnoxiously racist movie “Dear White People.” Starbucks went through a similar shakeup when they promised to hire 10,000 refugees. The media is being rocked by the fact that Americans aren’t taking their communist drivel anymore. It’s paramount you do your part to let the big corporations and especially the media know you don’t support them. Literally unsubscribe from cable. Stop watching CNN and other fake news purveyors. Stop reading the newspapers. Get all your media online from trusted sources, even if they aren’t professionally put together. Breitbart is a very good start, along with Drudge Report, but you’re going to have to go deeper than that. Breitbart can get you started.

Finally, there is the war in the hearts and minds of the people. Eventually, it will become election time again, and it’s critical we never, ever give back political power to the communists.

OK, let’s talk about what the war really is about.

There is a faction of the American public who have been enamored with socialism and communism. They don’t really understand what it’s about and have bought into the whole “socialism is about caring for poor people” lie. These people have been deceived and are being deceived. When there were plenty of these people, the communists trying to take over all of America have had moderate success, and even some stunning victories, such as Barack Obama. However, these people are simply tools.

There is another faction of the American public that has sensed something was horribly wrong with America. People like myself knew what it was from a long time ago, but whenever we spoke out people gave us funny looks and said, “You’re joking, right?” Well, people are starting to wake up and realize that no, I wasn’t joking, yes, the threat was real.

Let’s look at how communism really works, what it really is.

The fundamental idea behind communism is that there is no good and evil. With this, you have all you need for things like Soviet Russia and the slaughter of millions through starvation, all in the name of the “common good”. Whatever communism claims to bring, such as prosperity or freedom, is simply the lies of people who have lost their moral compass. There is no wealth or happiness or freedom in evil-doing. Only the truth will set you free, and the fundamental truth is that Jesus is Lord.

Our Founding Fathers gave us a country built on a morally sure foundation. No, they could not stop all the evil of their day, but they gave us the tools to fix whatever mistakes they made, provided we use the tools properly. Simply put, we did not use the tools properly. We haven’t since at least the 1920s. What happened was communism, in the name of progressivism and socialism, has slipped into every aspect of American life. Literally, every aspect. Because the constitution provided such a huge barrier to the reforms they’d like to impose on us (for the “common good”, right?), they have been systematically destroying the constitution. Now we live in a day when the vast majority of Americans have no idea what the constitution is, let alone what is in it. And the few people who know what it is and a little of what’s in it are woefully ignorant and outright deceived about its content. Thankfully, people like Milton Friedman, Ronald Reagan, and others have preserved, more or less, the original intent and meaning, and passed it down to us in the name of “conservatism”. Note that conservatism is the one thing that really drives the leftists mad with rage and anger.

But the constitution is not the only casualty.

They have destroyed our individualism.

They have destroyed our families.

They have destroyed our churches.

They have destroyed our charities.

They have destroyed our businesses.

They have destroyed our government.

Or, they have tried, but we have been able to keep things together, at least until now.

Now, we are in 2017, and America is frankly still falling apart. But some people have cracked the code of how the communists were using the media to subvert the political process, so much so that they have no qualms about going into public places and saying things like, “Maybe letting a kajillion refugees into America is the worst idea ever because they want to kill us” and “We need to stand up for the American culture” and “Hey, I’ve noticed that people with white skin and anglo-saxon heritage are a dying breed, maybe we should try to preserve that race and culture”. They are, in short, identifying one of the major attack vectors of the communists, and that is racism, or at least, accusations of it.

As a white male, who married a woman and who has five kids, and a Christian, no less, I stand proud! I am proud of my heritage, I am proud of my skin color, I am proud of my culture and my faith and my family and my job and my country. The communists cannot shame me because I know I am better than them. I am happy and satisfied with what life has given me. They never will be!

Frankly, Islam does pose a threat to the US. So do the illegal immigrants and the refugees. But honestly, America has enough men left that if those things became serious problems, and we were informed about them, we could clean it up in an afternoon. If we had to wage a modern crusade against muslim invaders in America, we would have no problem doing it.

The real threat is not those minor threats, but the voices who tell us that those obviously dangerous things are no danger at all. That’s what this war is really about: It’s a war over whether we should let America wake up, realize she is in danger, and do something about it, or keep America asleep so that these other dangers can make it impossible we ever recover.

We know the enemy, we know the battlefield, we know the battles and we know the strategy. What’s left? Simply this: Finding it in your heart to resolve to do those things necessary to win.

FIRST, identify the enemy for what it truly is: MODERN LIBERALISM and its lies about the WHITE RACE, the AMERICAN CULTURE, and AMERICAN HISTORY. Stand up as a proud member of the most elite and fantastic country in the history of the earth. Learn our history, our heritage, our culture, and our political system, and no longer be ashamed of being a WHITE CHRISTIAN MALE.

SECOND, fight by INFORMING OTHERS of your discoveries. Let them know the true nature of Islam. Let them know why Mexico wants an open border. Let them know who George Soros is and what communism really is all about. Teach them about what it means to be white, to be American, and to be proud. Point to pictures of white men going into foreign lands and fighting and dying for people who can’t even speak English, let alone worship the True God (Jesus Christ) and believe in the best political system (America!)

THIRD, CONFRONT THE ENEMY. Challenge them on their own turf. Show up, be loud, and be proud. Since they have no morality, it’s trivial to find them engaging in all sorts of evil things. Infiltrate and expose. Infiltrate and expose. Don’t be passive, be aggressive, and be proud of the fact that you get an adrenaline rush when you are doing good by fighting evil. Don’t back down when threatened or challenged. Let your voice be heard!

FOURTH, build America. Get married, have twenty kids, teach them the Bible and about Jesus and about capitalism and Americanism, and teach them to make fun of communists, Muslims, Mexican Cartels, and the child rape networks of the globalists. Teach them to fight and to marry and have twenty kids themselves. While you’re at it, start a new company, get filthy rich, buy a ton of AR-15s and tons of ammo to boot. The more guns you buy, the more ammo you stock, the less likely you’ll ever need to use it! But don’t neglect your community charities and churches. The six pillars of America: The Individual, the Family, the Church, the Charity, the Business, and the Government. Learn them all and become active in them all.

The constitution empowers us, the people, to take our country back. It empowers us to be masters of our own future and destiny. There may come a day when we have no choice to surrender, but that day is not today. Pray to God that he will deliver us, and he will!

What does the Fresno Terrorist Attack Teach us about Islam?

April 18, 2017

Today a black homeless man killed 3 white people for the crime of being white.

What we know is that he is a blatant racist, a hater of white people, and already a murderer wanted by the police.

As he carried out the attacks, he shouted “Allah Akbar!” which, if you don’t know yet, is Arabic for “God is great!”, a common phrase of Muslim terrorists who are in the act of murdering innocent people or committing suicide.

Was he a terrorist? Well, he hated white people, and he acted in a way that would cause terror, so yes, he was. Was he a Muslim? Yes, he was, unless I hear from a Muslim that he wasn’t. (Note: You Christians who say “No True Muslim” don’t know what you are talking about. Islam doesn’t work that way.)

We are well past the point where we have to wonder why people do these sorts of things in the name of Islam. There is a pattern, a repeated pattern, and it is found all over the earth. Where Muslims gather, some small proportion of them is going to murder non-believers and shout “God is Great!”

One of my friends mentioned that this man is a “lost soul”. I can’t help but wonder what that means. I did a bit of research into what a Muslim should do to regain his faith when he loses it, either due to gross disobedience to the teachings of Islam or just the general sense of faithlessness we all experience from time to time. In addition to the typical responses you might find in any religion: “Pray more, study more, meditate more, participate more with faithful believers”, Muslims will perform something called Zikr or Dhikr. Among the things considered Zikr are saying phrases like “God willing” (Inshallah) and “God is great” (Allah akbar).

Curious? I think so.

I’ve noticed also that in Islam, repentance also includes doing great deeds to compensate for your bad deeds. This is significant. In Christianity, we teach that there is nothing you can do to pay for your past sins except put your faith in Christ and repent and do the right thing from there on out. But in Islam, they teach that you can do great acts of righteousness. What is the greatest act of righteousness in Islam? Losing your life in a holy war.

In Christianity, however, if you choose to do good, it is because you are full of love of God and of mankind because God has forgiven you and replaced your stony heart with a new soft heart. Thus, Christians expect that their sins will be finally forgiven when they do some great act of service born by no other motivation than love.

I propose that Islam is fundamentally broken. While the vast majority of the time, it works out pretty good, it is in the edge cases that we find the problem, and in those edge cases, innocent people die.

Unfortunately, Islam has built up such a reputation that anyone who tries to reform it ends up dead as well. So reforming Islam is really out of the question. Without a clear leader who can speak for the whole religion, and since there are too many infallible teachers, that means you simply can’t change Islam unless you change huge chunks of it all at once.

That leaves conversion. I believe the only way to solve the Islam problem is to convert people to Christ and teach them the method of true repentance and how you can find faith when you lost it through charitable acts, patience, and kindness.

The Battle at Berkeley

April 17, 2017

If you haven’t heard, last Saturday Trump supporters gathered together in Berkeley. This time, a large number of men showed up ready for battle with Antifa. Sure enough, Antifa provoked them, throwing bottles, bricks, and M-80 explosives, along with the typical cowardice of hitting people in the back of the head, stealing their hats and flags, and more. Oh yeah, and they threw tear gas, smoke bombs, and pepper-sprayed people.

When the Trump supporters showed up, the police disarmed them, promising to provide protection. When the police withdrew, melee ensued. It was not pretty. I hear someone was even stabbed. There was lots of blood shed, but no lives taken.

I have never been in battle, and I hope never to be, but seeing the actions of those who were more than happy to engage Antifa was exciting, heroic, and patriotic. Flags and bibles were prominent. Chants of “USA! USA! USA!” and even the Battle Hymn of the Republic was heard.

A couple of thoughts.

First, we don’t need the police. Conservatives, people who work hard and make their own way in life, don’t need any cops. We can defend ourselves. The cops are there to protect the liberal crybabies who will throw a punch but whine when they get cocked.

Second, if the liberals don’t want to live by the law, then screw the law. Let’s go back down, all the way down, to the most primitive and basic of human relationships: War. I’m being quite serious here: People need to start dying, or this will never end. Once liberals see the effects of their actions, once conservatives realize that all the government they need they can carry in a hip-holster, we can begin rebuilding society.

Third, thank God that there are enough decent human beings willing to risk their lives, physically, financially, legally, to protect us. If I ever meet any of those people who participated on Trump’s side in the Battle of Berkeley, I will buy them a pizza. (Sorry, I don’t do beer.) They are welcome in my home, where they will be treated like heroes as they are.

Fourth, I’ve said this many times: Once a real leader stands up, literally millions of men, myself included, will flock to his flag. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read Captain Moroni. Kyle Chapman could be that man. We just need someone who is willing to fight and who has righteousness in his heart, and is ready to lay down his life for complete strangers.

I’m going to make another post about what the fight is really over, who is on which side, and what it will take to win. Next time!

Some Thoughts on the Culture Wars

April 13, 2017

Back in the 90’s, the media portrayed the culture wars as a bunch of old-fashioned kn0w-nothing religious lunatics raving against progress. Now that we are in the 21st Century, perhaps it’s time to revisit that idea.

Had we listened to the semi-popular proponents of the Culture War, people who advocated a return to tradition values, tradition religion, and tradition media, we might have avoided the problems we face today. It seems that in the pursuit of “progress”, the leftists have embraced not only sexual perversions like homosexuality and transsexuality as normal, but now we see they are trying to regularize pedophilia. You might even hear it relabeled as “pedosexuality”, which in my mind, is far worse, since a generous interpretation of “pedophilia” could be “the love of children”, while “pedosexuality” leaves nothing to the imagination.

If that were the worst problem facing us with our new culture, perhaps it wouldn’t be too much to worry about. After all, what does it truly matter if only a tiny percentage of our population wastes their lives in the self-gratification through sexual perversions?

The true damage of the changing culture can be felt in the walls of our nation’s homes, as unprecedented levels of children are raised without a father, or even a mother. Our new culture embraces complete irresponsibility when it comes to raising the next generation, an almost lackadaisical approach that says it is just as good to raise dogs as it is to raise children, that what should we care whether the majority of black children don’t even know their own fathers?

Surely this change in our culture is the cause of the downfall of our society. We know for a fact that fatherlessness leads to all sorts of problems, not the least of which are crime and poverty, but also mental health issues.

Suppose we let the culture war play out with the temporary victory of the leftists. Suppose we let society reset as the fatherlessness is carried to its ultimate end, which would be the entire destruction of segments of our society. I suppose then those who held on to traditional culture and mores would be left to rebuild society in their image. But we’re not talking about temporary setbacks, but the actual end of our society altogether when we look at another threat: Immigration.

See, right now America seems hell-bent on allowing anyone, and I mean anyone, to come into our society and join us. After a few years here, we think they should be allowed to vote and set policies. And we don’t seem to have a problem if they bring their culture but don’t adapt to ours. While this would normally lead to colonies surrounded by Americans, the decline of our society in this time means that it’s turning out the other way around. Eventually, traditional Americans will be like the colonized, living in a land controlled by people who don’t even know what Americanism is.

I propose a multi-step plan to remedy this situation, and win the Culture Wars once and for all.

First, absolute resistance to all forms of anti-Americanism, no matter what shape that takes. This resistance must come from the people, not the government. That is to say, a boycott of ALL media that portrays deviant behavior as normal. It could be something as small as two men holding hands with suggestive overtones, or something as serious as foul language or outright denunciation of property rights. We simply withdraw with our money and attention, and let them try to survive on their own.

Second, an end to all immigration. Until we fix out own society, what purpose can we serve by having more people come? Let’s simply stop granting citizenships and let’s stop allowing people to move their families here. If you want to come and work temporarily, or visit us to do business, that’s fine, but we simply can’t handle the immigrants we have, let alone admit more. If we ever do allow immigration ever again, it will be only to admit those people who are almost completely aligned with our ideological values and won’t degrade our culture.

Third, retaking of the education system. This can take the form of mass homeschooling, or something similar to Arizona’s voucher system, but regardless, we must shut down our entire education system and replace it with a system that doesn’t force us to adopt liberal culture. Thanks to the new age of the internet, this is not only entirely possible, but easily achieved. We simply stop sending our kids to liberal universities and instead turn the internet into a university.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the establishment of the home as the central government authority. That is, to convince like-minded people that their primary duty is to marry and have as many kids as physically possible, to raise those kids right and put them on the path to do the same. In short, all conservatives should be catholic and mormon in how they procreate. Does that mean sacrificing time, effort, and money? Absolutely. But this is how you win a culture war: You outproduce your competitors.

I wish to spell out what American traditional values and culture is, so as my points will be made clear.

American Culture starts with God, and not just any God, but the Christian God, who is known as the Savior, who laid down his life for us and the world.

American Culture continues with self-responsibility born from sovereignty. We are accountable to God and God alone for our actions, and so we should take responsibility for them rather than blame others for our situation.

American Culture continues with the ideas of God-given rights, such as life, liberty, and property. We didn’t create these rights, we didn’t invent them, God gave them to us and expects us to seize them for ourselves and to protect them with our lives. This isn’t a philosophical debate. It is a matter of religious compulsion.

American Culture describes the ideal society. At the center is the home, with a mother and father who work together to raise their children to carry the torch of our culture. Inside the communities, we find churches, businesses, charities, and governments. Churches exist to keep us away from evil and to tell us our rights. Governments exist to enforce those rights by aggregated force. Businesses exist to make money through honesty and hard work. Charities exist to help those who can’t yet help themselves find their way to independence and security. Private citizens participate in all of these institutions because they have a duty to do so. Neglecting any one of these things is like neglecting them all.

American Culture values Union. We were willing to fight and die for it in the Civil War. We believe that together, united, we can overcome any evil, but divided, we will easily fall to sectionalism and petty bickering.

American Culture requires men to be men and women to be women and children to be children. Men should be strong, lead their family in love, and lay down his life for this family. Women should likewise lead their family in love, but exemplify the critical elements of womanhood by tending to the children and seeing to their proper upbringing. Children should be absolutely respectful to their parents, and desire nothing more than to be like their parents.

American Culture is not found on TV and never will be. It is found in the board rooms of business, preached from the pulpits of our churches, seen in the soup kitchens and hopefully the halls of government. Most especially, it is found in the home, in the places where no one will ever see unless they live it themselves, in the quiet moments when fathers teach their children history and math, when mothers show their children how to mend and sew and save money, and when the most important principles of religion, philosophy, government, and more are taught from an early age.

Have we lost the Culture War? No, it is only beginning. Now that more and more people see what we saw back in the 20th Century, and especially as they see how important it is in the 21st Century, we can take this war to greater heights and deeper victories.

The New Bellicose Donald Trump

I suppose some people are surprised that President Trump is willing to use military force without so much as a warning peep. I’m not. That is, after all the, entire reason why we have a single president, and not a council of executives.

The Founding Fathers designed the country to be a particular way. They wanted the constitution of the United States to guide people to act in ways that would protect the interests of the United States and the people of the United States, especially in protecting individual rights.

The Founding Fathers deeply distrusted the so-called “will of the people”. Although their political philosophy was founded on the idea that people had the sovereign right to rule themselves, it was not founded on the idea that everyone has an equal say. Certainly, if we look at who was allowed to vote for the constitution itself, only a limited number of people, particularly white male property owners, were even allowed to make their opinion matter. Everyone else had to accept whatever the property owners decided was best.

This was by design. After all, if you give a large group of people the power to choose for themselves, they will selfishly and short-sightedly choose those things that they want at the expense of what is best for them in the future. By limiting the vote for property owners, they found a rare way to bring in long-term vision into short-term decisions. After all, property owners care most about the value of their property, particularly the productive capacity of their property. Property owners typically have a very large sunk cost that they are trying to recoup. Or perhaps they have inherited the property through birthright and simply wanted to preserve it for their future generations. There is no single group of people that is as forward thinking as property owners.

The three branches of government, the executive, the legislative, and the judicial, exist to take action at different times and different ways.

The legislative is the deliberative body, where everyone can come together and make their opinions heard. The halls of congress were supposed to be debate halls, where the great issues of the day are discussed and compromises ensue.

A great example of this from history is the famous Webster-Hayne debate, which President Jackson attended. These two men represented the two most powerful political philosophies of the day, and engaged in a brutal one-on-one philosophical combat, laying out their arguments with nothing left to the imagination. Webster argued that Union and Liberty were inseperable, that any argument which divided the United States was really an argument against liberty itself. Hayne argued that the federal government was a creature of the states, created by the states, and it can be limited by the states arbitrarily. This argument was so important that it became the basis for a full war, the Civil War, roughly half a century later.

The judicial branch is meant to be the place where private citizens have their disagreements reconciled. No one can be convicted without passing through the hands of a judge, appointed to life-time terms, chosen by the president and confirmed by the senate. After the Marbury v. Madison decision, however, all of that changed, as both the executive and legislative branches turned to the judicial branch to determine for them what the constitution said. It is remarkable to know what the effects of this bad policy has been. No longer do we turn to the house and senate to hear the arguments of the day, but we wait for the Supreme Court to meet together and decide our issues for us, without our input at all.

The executive branch is probably the least understood branch of government. On the one hand, it’s not uncommon to hear people say that the president should write a law, or change the law. On the other hand, you hear people trying to stop the president from action by laws or judicial decisions.

Let me help the reader understand the purpose of the executive. Originally, under the Virginia Plan proposed at the Constitutional Convention, the executive was to be appointed for life, to serve a life term. This was nothing short of a king, except his power was constrained by the legislature and to a degree the judicial. The executive was invested with all the power of enforcement as well as the power to wage, but not declare, war.

President Trump is handling this awesome responsibility very well. He is supposed to be the “voice in the wilderness” thrusting obvious reality into the debate. He is supposed to override and overrule the “will of the people”. Someone like Donald Trump, sitting in the president’s office, has no possible ambition beyond doing what he thinks is best. The tradition of the office of president was supposed to be that the president would be so wealthy that he could want for nothing more. (That’s the real reason why kings in Europe are given every worldly desire — you can’t bribe someone who has everything!)

We don’t know what President Trump is doing in the halls of the White House, what he is saying in his secret meetings with the heads of foreign states, nor should we. He answers to no one, only his own conscience and God. That’s the way it is supposed to be.

Now, we can whine and complain and moan about the things he has done, but he should care little for our opinion, because we simply cannot have the vision he has. In his office, he sees things that we will never know about, he knows things that we will never see.

After 4 years, we will have a national referendum on whether he should continue as president. After 4 more years, we’ll have the rest of our lives to try and figure out what he did and why. But by that time, he will be old news and someone else will occupy the White House.

In this way, presidents live on in immortal memory, not for what they have actually done or not done, but for what we think they did.

In short, the new bellicose Donald Trump is not new and not surprising. This is who the president is supposed to be, the kind of president we need, the exact sort of behavior we should expect. I hate war as much as the next guy, but I am relying on our president to be ready and willing to threaten and use it to defend our natural rights.

God as an Alien Super-Being

April 4, 2017

One popular topic in science fiction is the observation that sufficiently advanced technology looks like magic. I’ve often wondered if perhaps God is simple a super-advanced human.

Suppose God were an alien super-being, a member of a technologically advanced race that surpasses our understanding. Would that, in any way, diminish his glory or magnitude? Would that make him not worthy of reverence, respect, and worship?

If you are an atheist, and you believe that higher and lower life forms exist, and you believe that there is life beyond planet earth, and allow yourself the possibility that life beyond the earth could be more advanced, then you really can’t be an atheist, can you? After all, one of those more advanced races could be reaching out to us with technology that far surpasses our understanding, and he could call himself God. Should you worship such a creature? No matter your answer, you cannot deny that he exists.

Physical Removal

April 4, 2017

I am not a philosopher. Or rather, we are all philosophers.

I am of the sort of philosophy that I don’t mind listening to different ideas.

I have always known that Libertarianism, the political movement in the US, was horribly flawed. On the one hand, you had people who were all but anarcho-capitalists, who wanted a society where people behaved rationally and if they didn’t the market would solve all problems. On the other hand, you had people who seemed to like everything about Libertarianism but the parts about the freedom to property. How long could this schizophrenic movement last and still try to claim some sort of ideological purity?

It seems the year 2015 was the year that the two factions split. You now have the new “Alt-Right” and then you have the liberal “libertarians”. The “Alt-Right” demands closed borders, culture wars, and intense state action to ensure ideological purity in the population, and all but demands and end to democracy. The liberal “libertarians” can hardly see a difference between themselves and the violent communists roaming the streets, steeling red MAGA caps and beating up women and old men and then celebrating on the internet from the comfort of their mother’s basement.

The new “Alt-Right”, at least, the refugees from the Libertarian movement portion of it, suddenly sees the virtues in Christianity, in social normalcy, in traditional gender roles, in authoritarian government. They suddenly see that unless a significant majority of the population agrees with them, they really have no rights and can’t rely on the ballot box to fix things. They suddenly realize that the far-right Christian conservatives have a lot more in common with their political philosophy than anyone else.

To lay it all out in the simplest terms, but without trite phrases like “Freedom isn’t Free”, let me try to spell out what orthodox conservatism is all about.

God created man and gave man rights. This puts an end to all discussion of what rights are and who has them. We have the rights to free speech and the right to life and the right to property and the only way you’re going to change that is to change God’s mind about it. Period. End of story. And yes, we’ll fight a crusade to defend those rights, DEUS VULT, NON NOBIS DOMINE. And we’re going to fight and kill for these rights for other people to because DEUS VULT, NON NOBIS DOMINE.

This is the crux of conservatism. We are not going to negotiate our rights. We are not going to compromise our rights. We are going to fight and defend them with all the religious vigor we can muster.

Conservatism starts in the Bible. We read in the Bible about a God who freed the Israelites, not because the Israelites were smart or cool or particularly worshipful, but because of a promise God made a long time ago to their ancestors. And we read about a God who demands recognition not for the fact that He created the world but the fact that he FREED the world from tyranny. Then we read about a God who gives rules and binds His people to Him through those rules, the covenant, the sacred contract. “As long as you keep these rules, I will keep you free.” Then we read time and again divine intervention in freeing the Israelites and others from their own silliness. Then we read about a God who descended from heaven not to be served but to serve, and his service is to lay his own life down that we may live and be free from our sins and from tyranny forever. This is the God of the Bible. This is the God of Freedom, the God of Liberty, the God who keeps his promises, the God who everyone can trust in.

Once we take upon ourselves the sacred covenant with God to keep his commandments, then we begin to walk the path. And what does this path entail? It entails service, it entails love, it entails building up people and families and communities and nations. It is a lot of work, but it is joyful work, because God rewards his servants much more than they are worth. Even the latecomers who show up with mere minutes of work left to go get paid a full wage.

The point is this: Freedom and liberty are not the cause of conservatism, but the effect. They are happy side-effects to embracing reality the way it really is, by living your life the best you know how, by doing what’s right even when the world tells you it is wrong, of sticking to your guns even if you’re the only person on the planet on your side.

When it comes to government, conservatives believe that governments are necessary because everyone is evil. If you try and build a collection of “right-minded” individuals who agree with you, you’ll end up with only yourself. Governments exist to constrain the natural evil tendencies, to provide some sort of structure and system that even evil-doers can latch on to. The point of government is ultimately to secure our rights. Remember the things I said about God? Ultimately, a right is what God tells you to do, which is entirely different than a freedom, which is what you are free to choose for yourself. The point of government is to basically protect those doing God’s work and punish those who interfere.

Now, in trying to design a government that is resistant to corruption, we’ve discovered a few good rules of thumb.

The first rule of thumb is federalism. That is, there is not “one government to rule them all”, but instead, a large number of independent and sovereign governments who challenge and defy one another. The only force strong enough to overthrow a government is another government, after all. In order to make federalism work, we need clear borders, and we need to defend those borders. Not just the physical borders, but the legal borders as well. We should fight the federal government intrusions on constitutional limits as hard as we fight the Mexican invasion of the United States. (Priorities might dictate we build the wall first—that’s a matter of debate.)

The second rule of thumb is a separation of powers. Governments should each consist of clear and distinct legislative, executive, and judicial powers.

Note that the rules of thumb do not include universal suffrage or monarchy or anything like that. It doesn’t matter the origin of government, the form of government is most important.

Now, to get to the “Physical Removal” part of government. In a democracy, it is a fact that a large number of people aren’t going to vote well. The idea of universal suffrage, after all, is sickening. Even the founder of the Democratic Party, Martin van Buren, knew that granting universal suffrage was madness. The reason for this is simple: When too many people get the power to vote, their vote counts that much less, they put that much less thought in it, and in the end, you get bad results. Thus, in order to have a successful democracy, you must, intentionally, limit the vote. Currently, we limit the vote to people who are not felons and who are citizens. I propose we go even further, but that’s another story.

The easiest way to get people to stop voting is to throw them in prison for a felony. You could also revoke their citizenship. Both ways are perfectly valid, and should be used on people who have proven to us that they really don’t understand or care for our system of government.

Now, some people complain that government violates their rights, and they are right, and we need to stand up against government, recognizing that nothing much has really changed since King George III. But some people complain that government violates their “rights”, and we need to laugh at them and tell them to enjoy their time in prison. Government is a force to be reckoned with, to be seriously engaged, and to be controlled. That means we need to fight, and fight viciously, to obtain political power and keep it, using whatever means necessary. This is a lesson that has been taught multiple times since the inception of the country. Are you learning?

Once you have political power, what do you do? Protect rights. Not fake rights, but real rights, the things God commands people to do.

The second part of physical removal is a simple observation. It takes the police, what, 5 minutes to get to your house? If you’re in your own house, you’re already there. Thus, the only person who can protect yourself is you. It starts with you learning how to fight, how to defend yourself, how to spot trouble, how to stay safe. And what’s the simple rule of staying safe? Keep the bad guys far, far away from you.

I live in a neighborhood. If I had thug kids with hoodies running up and down the street at night, I have a few choices. I can choose to do nothing, and the problem gets worse. I can choose to use violent force (AKA the police) to drive the thugs away. Or I can move.

Of those three options, only one makes sense if you are a conservative: You use violent force to chase the thugs away. You set up a neighborhood watch party. You take pictures and videos. You call the police. You arm up. If one of them gets violent, you respond with violence.

It seems the “Physical Removal” libertarians are starting to realize why government is a good thing, why state power can be used rightly, you just have to wield it for yourself and your country, in protection of basic rights.

So, to summarize: Rights come from God, and that means DEUS VULT. Government exists to protect rights, and rights only, and the proper form is federalism and clear separation of powers. You can’t trust democracy (or any other form of government) but you can be vigilant. And when you win political power, you protect real rights, not fake rights. And finally, you use violence to keep your neighborhood safe from violence.

It’s pretty simple.

Now, who are the enemies of America today? Let me spell it out for those who can’t see already.

  • Communism in all its forms, and any communist sympathizer. If you seriously can’t understand why throwing communist agitators out of helicopters is a good thing, then do your research. Start with the Holodomor, and continue into the Great Leap Forward.
  • Fascism, in all its forms. Fascism is not “people who disagree with me”. It’s a partnering between business and the state through favoritism and such. Yes, we do live in a fascist state, and some examples of that include Planned Parenthood and PBS. President Trump is the great anti-fascist!
  • Islam, the political philosophy, that wants to subject everyone to Sharia law and make women, Christians and Jews second-class citizens, and slaughter the Hindus and Buddhists. Ask an Indian what they think of Islam, or a Western Chinese, and they’ll let you know how you handle Islam.
  • The media, that is lying to you and presenting Fake News as if it were gospel truth. If you haven’t caught on yet, the media, in all its forms, is bought and paid for by people who simply want to make money, and don’t mind selling your rights to do so.
  • Anti-Christians, in all their forms. It’s one thing to be Atheist or non-believer, to simply disagree with Christians. It’s quite another to persecute religious people because they are religious. As you can see from my arguments, religion is the literal foundation of this country, and when it comes time to fight for rights, who do you want on your side: a group of people who have been persuaded by logic and reason, or a group of people who are religious fanatics and think they will be rewarded in heaven for fighting the good fight?
  • Illegal immigrants. Immigrants who come here who want to build up our country and expand our power and learn of our political philosophy are more than welcome, but if you’re here to break our rules with literally your first breath and step and live as a second-class citizen under the protection of the Democratic Party, then you’re not welcome.
  • Democrats. If you still can’t see why the Democratic Party is the Anti-American party, you really are part of the problem. You can’t name one pro-American issue that the democrats stand for. They have become the modern Federalist Party, a group of authoritarian nay-sayers whose only claim to fame is they once had a pretty average president.

It’s time to chase these enemies out of America, either by conversion or by expulsion. When they commit a crime, they go to jail, and lose their right to vote, period. If they fight against America, they are traitor and we have a discussion on whether a life-sentence is too good for them.
